A giclee (zhee-CLAY), is an individually produced, high-resolution, high-fidelity, high tech reproduction created with a large format printer that sprays actual paint on a canvas. Giclees are produced from digital scans of original artwork. Nadine Marie Collection giclees are produced on canvas so as to match the originals as close as possible - not only in color, but also in texture. Giclees are superior to traditional lithography in nearly every way. The colors are brighter, last longer, and are so high-resolution that they are virtually 'continuous tone', rather than tiny dots. The range, or "gamut" of color for giclees is far beyond that of lithography, and details are crisper. The image has all the tonalities and hues of the original painting... You can chose from a giclee reproduction, or an "enhanced" giclee, where the artist - Nadine Marie - will do enhancing live touch-ups on your giclee before it is delivered to you... Serigraph or silk screen prints draw upon a wide variety of techniques and procedures to achieve a unique effect that brings out the vibrancy and beauty of each painting. Serigraphy may involve up to 100 separate screens to compose a finished image. Modern synthetic fabric has replaced traditional silk to make the tightly stretched screens. The masking stencils are then imbedded in the fabric, and the ink is pressed through with a squeegee onto the paper. The serigraphic process offers techniques that are unachievable in other printing methods. It is capable of printing heavy layers of ink and producing a surface of texture. It is best known for its rich and vibrant color, and is the most popular print method for high-quality reproductions of high-class works of art.
